Not to be outdone, in a more recent “Morning Joe” show on MSNBC discussing the so-called “Trump threat” to democracy, New York Times editorial board member Mara Gay stated how disturbed she was when she recently visited Long Island and saw white people in pick-up trucks flying dozens of American flags. That is how banana republics deal with their opponents. Joe Scarborough told them to leave the country. They haven’t faced any consequences thus far, so they will continue their efforts unless “some of them go to jail.” Let’s recap: MSNBC’s Chris Hayes called for the jailing of those who continue to question the 2020 election results. What penalties have those who questioned and continue to question the election results faced, Hayes asked. ![]() Maybe Chris Hayes thinks those who drive pick-up trucks and fly American flags-obvious Trump supporters according to Mara Gay-should also be imprisoned. ![]() Hayes then turned his venom on Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani for attacking “free and fair elections.” Finally, Hayes accused those GOP congressmen, Senators, and state legislators who support audits, and GOP state attorneys general who used lawful means to attempt to challenge the 2020 election results, and of course Trump, of unlawfully attempting to overturn the election. Hayes also condemned Trump aide Mark Meadows for reportedly requesting the Justice Department to investigate allegations of election fraud, a crime that falls within the Justice Department’s jurisdiction. (Judges sided with Paxton in all of those lawsuits). Hayes condemned Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton for lawfully defending Texas election laws against a myriad of lawsuits that were designed to change existing election laws. The audit is a “mass delusion,” he claimed, that will cause damage and destruction to democracy.Ī few days later, again on MSNBC, Hayes called those who question the results of the 2020 presidential election “anti-democratic.” “It is an increasingly militant insurrection,” Hayes said (emphasis mine). “They are trying to destroy” democracy’s legitimacy, Hayes said of those who question the election results. The audit, Hayes said, was an “assault on democracy.” ![]() I described this as an all-time low for MSNBC, but a few weeks later, they topped it: MSNBC’s Chris Hayes described the Maricopa County election audit as “ridiculous and dangerous.” On June 3rd, Hayes ridiculed Pennsylvania GOP State Senator Douglas Mastriano for visiting the Arizona audit. ‘It is an increasingly militant insurrection,’ - MSNBC’s Chris Hayes. Scarborough stated that anyone who questioned the election results should leave the country. A few weeks ago, I wrote an article here about MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough going on a rant about the ongoing Maricopa County, Arizona, audit of the 2020 presidential election.
